Bio
I am an artist and writer (b. 1993, French/American/British) who lives and works in London.
Primarily made in oil, watercolour or ink, my works reflect on notions of self and female otherness through explorations of storytelling, mysticism, and dreamed worlds. I am nourished by an interest in myths and narratives that center around powerful feminine figures – human and otherworldly – as I seek to create representations of femininity that are deeply attuned to the natural and spiritual realms.
My artistic and poetry practices are profoundly connected to each other: both delve into my ‘inner landscape’ and express a lifelong yearning for this spiritual connection with nature and the unseen. My poems serve as a starting point for my paintings, as I transcribe the images they evoke in me onto a surface. Verses from these poems are then extracted for my works’ titles and adorn the sides of my paintings, akin to the spine of a book.
